PhD in Philosophy from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. He works in the history of political ideas (16th-18th centuries) and contemporary political philosophy. He has taught at the University of Paris 1, the University of Rouen and the University of Quebec in Montreal. His research focuses on republican thought, in its historical and normative dimensions, as well as on methodological problems related to intellectual history.
