We are an intercultural education and gender research group firmly committed to our activity and society. We work to provide a contemporary response to traditional social issues and conflicts which reoccur frequently but change form. We engage in research, innovation, knowledge dissemination and research-led teaching. We cooperate with other groups, researchers from Spain and abroad, people who work in the social and educational fields, social actors and local organizations.
Established in 1992, the Intercultural Education Research Group (GREDI) was the first recognized research group of the University of Barcelona’s Faculty of Education. A project entitled Diagnosis in a Multicultural School was a launchpad for our group research activity, and combining quantitative and qualitative methodologies paved the way for both research work and researcher training. Since then, research projects, commissioned evaluations and international cooperation projects have seen the original group of researchers mature scientifically and grow, all the while upholding the principles of social commitment and ethical research.
