Visiting Scholars Programme
Academic visitor
An academic visitor is a PhD holder who applies to spend time at the University of Barcelona (UB) or Rovira i Virgili University while on leave from their home institution. Their visit must be for the purpose of carrying out independent research, the funding of which will be their own responsibility, with the supervision or support of a GREDI researcher. They will be able to make use of our universities’ different research resources and facilities, such as the following:
Institute of Research in Education (IRE)
Institute of Professional Development (IDP)
Student Support Service (SAE)
Learning and Research Resources Centre (CRAI)
Visiting researcher in training
A visiting researcher in training is a PhD or postgraduate student with leave from their home institution to undertake a training period with GREDI. The purpose of their visit, which a GREDI researcher will supervise, is to enhance their training through participation in some of the group’s projects and initiatives.
Visit duration may be from one month to one year.
Other mobility programmes
Our universities participate in numerous lecturer and researcher mobility programmes.
Application process
The first step a potential visitor should take is to contact a researcher willing to host and supervise their visit. Information about GREDI’s members and projects can be found on our website.
Visiting lecturer/researcher reception programme
The Mobility and International Programmes Office (OMPI) manages the reception programme for visiting lecturers or researchers invited by UB lecturers. The procedure begins in the Department of Methods of Research and Diagnosis in Education (MIDE), when a GREDI researcher and UB lecturer issues an invitation to a lecturer/researcher from another university, and concludes in the OMPI.
