Transfer, social impact and institutional commitment

We carry out research with and for society, and thus seek to apply everything we learn and create as a result of our research projects in an appropriate and sufficient way. As members of the University of Barcelona (UB), we are highly committed to our institution. We participate in many of its committees and management bodies, and direct and coordinate a range of structures and programmes.

As citizens, we are fully committed to the principles of a fairer, more equal, inclusive and democratic society. Consequently, we are also involved in social institutions and organizations in our local area.

We have developed various instruments and resources, either to commission or as results/products of research. Of particular note are our teaching resources on intercultural and citizenship skills and multicultural HR management. The resources we have developed include the following:

2. Technical commissioned work and studies on evaluation and training

We apply and disseminate the knowledge our research generates. The most evident way of doing so is through teaching in our universities’ psycho-educational bachelor’s degree programmes, and in national and international master’s degree and PhD programmes.

We also apply such knowledge in scientific and technical training offered at the UB, Rovira i Virgili University, and institutions that contact us for solutions to their requirements.

Evaluation is another of our main specialities. We evaluate and accredit knowledge and skills, social programmes and educational programmes developed using different methodological approaches.

Training

We carry out institutional training projects, which usually involve detecting needs, designing, organizing and imparting training, and evaluating training plans. We also provide methodological training on research design, data analysis, and quantitative and qualitative software.

Our essentially methodological tradition and identity have resulted in our involvement in numerous evaluation-related transfer activities. Thanks to the group’s methodological diversity, we are able to take various approaches to evaluation, ranging from more quantitative to more transformative approaches.
