Antonio Castilla Cerezo (Barcelona, 1971) is a lecturer at the Facultat de Filosofia of the Universitat de Barcelona.

Areas of study:

Both his teaching and his research have been focused on the areas of philosophical anthropology and the philosophy of culture, on the one hand, and Aesthetics and Art Theory, on the other. In all these areas he has focused on contemporary authors in whom the imprint of Nietzschean thought is perceptible to one degree or another, whether they belong to the French (Michel Foucault, Gilles Deleuze), Italian (Giorgio Colli) or Spanish environment (Maria Zambrano). A recurring theme in his inquiries has been, for this reason, the problem of madness (and, from there, affects such as anguish or terror) in thought and in art.

On the other hand, as a researcher, he has participated in projects financed by private (such as La Caixa) and public institutions (Ministry of Education, Universitat de Barcelona, Universidad de Granada).
