on governments and markets

The Research Group on Governments and Markets comprises researchers from the University of Barcelona working on research fields covering the role of governments and their intervention policies on a variety of markets and economic sectors.

The primary objective of our group is to perform high quality research in economics and in other related disciplines (such as Public Administration, Political Science, Transportation, etc.) linked to our primary field of analysis: the interaction between governments and markets. We are concerned with the analysis of motives and effects of public intervention on markets, and the implications of the public policy issues that are analyzed. Among other actions, we pay especial attention to the internationalization of our research activities. Furthermore, the Research Group on governments and markets is closely linked to the Observatory of Analysis and Evaluation of Public Policies at the University of Barcelona.
