Local Government of Huesca has just published in his web all of its cartographic drawings that made the topographer Dionisio Casañal en 1891 about the city and the municipality.
It can be visualised and downloaded the Plano de Huesca in a scale of 1:500 (17 sheets), 1:1.000 (10 sheets) and 1:2.500 (1 sheet), and the Término Municipal de Huesca in a scale of 1:5.000 (14 sheets) and 1:20.000 (1 sheet).
We must underline that the local Government keeps an abroad variety of paperwork related to the assignment, preparatory work, pictures, field work notebooks, calculations, even the engraved stone used to print the map 1:2.500 and the furniture where the paperwork was kept.
Dionisio Casañal y Zapatero (1846-1913) was and important and productive topographer known overall by his urban maps (Zaragoza, Pamplona, Córdoba, Vitoria y Huesca) and by his plot maps of numerous municipalities and areas of irrigation of Valle del Ebro. In 2014 took place an exhibition in Zaragoza that was commissioned by the member of GEHC José Luis Villanova, author of numerous studies about the person and work of Casañal.
