Authorial London is a magnificent example about how it can be used ancient cartography, in this case to show the geographic footprints of writers over maps which are contemporary.
It is a project that emerge from English Department of University of Standfort, which started publishing a guide on Internet to follow the life of some London authors and different places in which can be related the work to the capital. The next step was the use of the potencial of cartography of this age georrefering the places(pinpoints, streets, squares…) and different information that has even connected with (books, photos, narrations, anecdotes…).
The web is easy to use, has an atractiva design, a fast answer and a lot of information about more than 40 authors. Some utilities are very interesting, as for example can compare places of life between two or more authors.
