The next 17 June, from 17:00 to 18:00, Jean Marc Bessé, Gilles Tiberghien and Gilles Palsky will give in the French National Library the lecture Opérations cartographiques as part of the cycle Club des livres

The meeting will be cheer by Catherine Hofmann (épartement des Cartes et Plans of French National Library).  Opérations cartographiques will pretend to question the cogniscive scope, as well as the politics and the imaginary of cartographic operations that are based on the analysis of artistic, politic, economic, social and cultural practices.

During the meeting we can see how everyone is affected by  cartography, as much as it is an area used by landscape professionals, geographers and artists; computer scientist and graphic designers; urban planners, architects and designers; hikers, cyclists, telephone operators, students, retirees, voters, consumers…The lecturers consider that the maps are around us and ourselves as they are elaborated by our practices and collective actions.
