Noelia Ramos Espinosa (València, 1980). Bachelor’s degree in information science for Universitat de València (2001), Graduate for the Universitat de Barcelona (2006) and Postgraduate in Cultural companies and projects management (IDEC-Universitat Pompeu Fabra, 2008). She’s been working as a curator in the Map Library of the Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya (ICGC) where she has specialized in cataloguing and disseminating old and contemporary maps in digital media, and management of special heritage collections.
She has also carried out projects to disseminate the Map Library collections, both with national and international presentations, as well as with publications and exhibitions, including “Women and cartography” (2018) and “Geology in femenin” (2019). She completed a stay as a visiting librarian in the map library of the National Library of Scotland (2011).
She is a member of the maps working group that advises on the cataloging of cartographic documents at the Consorci de Serveis Universitaris de Catalunya (CSUC). She has participated as a speaker and organizer in the regular meetings such as the Ibercarto Spanish-Portuguese Map Library Working Group, the Commission on Cartographic Heritage into Digital of the International Cartographic Association (ICA) and the Ibero-American Symposium on the History of Cartography (SIAHC).
