The 8 Iberoamerican Symposium of History of Cartography (SIAHC) will take place in Barcelona in April 2020, 21-24th. The organizer will be the Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya (ICGC) in collaboration with the Grup d’Estudis d’Història de la Cartografia (GEHC).

The motto chosen for this occasion is El mapa como elemento de conexión cultural entre América y Europa. On it, it is thought to discuss about colonial maps, maps of scientific expedition or maps of independent territories as conductor theme to link the development and production of cartographic images in one side and another of Atlantic Ocean. 

The first call for papers is available (download of PDF). The deadline  to present abstracts until September, 30th. More details in the  website .
