The Biblioteca de Catalunya shows in the exhibition “Les fronteres de Catalunya. Segles XVII i XVIII” a set of geographical maps of Catalonia. This is a selection of the first maps of Catalonia, most published outside the Iberian peninsula.
The exhibition will be open until December 19, 2015. There are available to download the poster [JPG] and the brochure [PDF].
The Graphic unit of Biblioteca de Catalunya was created in 1923 as a section of picture cards, engravings and maps. It has a remarkable collection of maps, with an approximate total of eighteen thousand documents, including unique pieces are as Nautical Chart Gabriel de Vallseca (prior to 1439) and the collection of Mossèn Ignasi M. Colomer.
