Biography:

Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, Alt Penedès, 1958. Professor of Human Geography at the Universitat de Barcelona, where teaches Cultural Geography and History of Cartography. Has made several research stays related to the History of Cartography at The Newberry Library (Chicago, 1993), Université de Québec à Montréal (Montreal, 1995), Politecnico di Milano (Milan, 2012) and UMR Géographie-cités (París, 2013). Has been president of the Societat Catalana de Geografia between 2006 and 2012 and is member of various scientific societies as the Société de Géographie of Paris, The International Society for the History of the Map and the Institut d’Arqueologia de la Universitat de Barcelona. Since 2008 is coordinator of the Grup d’Estudis d’Història de la Cartografia (GEHC) a recognized consolidated research group by the Generalitat de Catalunya.
