New group on the history of the International Cartographic Association

The International Cartographic Association (ICA) celebrated its 60th anniversary last year and decided to create the ICA Working Group on the History of ICA with the intention of documenting the activity carried out by the organisation since its foundation and preserving the documentation it has generated. The group has started by compiling all the minutes of the ICA meetings and is asking the cartographic community for help to find some that are missing:

  • 5th General Assembly held in Moscow in 1976 
  • 7th General Assembly held in Perth in 1984
  • 8th General Assembly held in Morelia in 1987
  • 9th General Assembly held in Bournemouth in 1991
