In May, from 20th to 22nd the Symposium Produire la carte : représentations transfrontalières et interculturelles de l’Antiquité à nos jours will take place in Mulhouse (France) organised by Centre de recherches sur les économies, les sociétés, les arts et les techniques (CRESAT), linked to vUniversité de Haute-Alsace (UHA).
The conference has as goal to put foward a reflexion and debate about cartographic representation of transborder and intercultural cartographic representations. The reflection wants to be articulated in three axes: time ( Which was the compatibility of intercultural phenomena with cartographic works made along the history?), space (which are intercultural or transborder phenomena depending on the study areas, creation and broadcasting of maps?) and method (how and why to make up maps including these phenomena?)
The program is available (PDF).
The access to the symposium is free but it is necessary to be on list here before May, 15th.
