The next 17 November it will take place, in thel Service historique de la Défense (Castle of Vincennes), the journeys about the study of Faire la carte et restituer le paysage, made by the Comité français de cartographie (CFC) and the Institut Cartogràfic i Geològic de Catalunya (ICGC).

The journeys will center in two aspects:

• The changes in topographic maps in the first decades of 19th century and  
• the contribution of digital technologies to reconstruction of landscapes from old topographic maps

Both questions will be approached from the study of the French militar map of Barcelona of 1823-1827, titled Lever nivelé de la place de Barcelone, made at 1:10.000 scale and with contour lines. This map has been recently presented and studied by  GECH members (see reference)  who will participate in the journeys.
