Econometric analysis and forecasting of trade, FDI, migration, employability and tourism
Andre Romero, Maria Encarnacion
Students who would like to carry out the dissertation following this line of research will develop an empirical analysis of topics related to applied economics from an international perspective, such as trade flows determinants, firm location decisions, FDI impacts, migration drivers, determinants of employability and analysis of tourism flows. The dissertation should have a clear relationship with these fields, but students are encouraged to suggest alternative topics that are appropriate to their specific interests and expertise, although an intensive use of statistics and econometric techniques learnt in the degree will be required in any case. The dissertation should contain a description about what we currently know about the selected topic, add a theoretical discussion suited for the specific problems analyzed and discuss this in light of the obtained empirical evidence.
