Cities are one of the most important challenges of the 21st century. In recent years, the smart city concept has been presented as an umbrella under which a series of strategies are encompassed that proposes solutions to different fields of urban problems.
These solutions have frequently been particularly focused on technological and financial fields of urban settings, centring less on the most important issue: people.
This postgraduate course will investigate the new term ‘smart social city’, a smart city management strategy whose objective is to promote innovation, technology and efficiency in cities, always in the service of improving their citizens’ quality of life.
