Basic and translational research in Advanced Therapies
At Creatio we do research and translation of Advanced Therapies with a focus on neurodevelopment and neurological diseases under the ISO 9001:2015 standard. We have an international and multidisciplinary team of researchers dedicated to the study of the underlying molecular mechanisms in neurodegenerative diseases, to research into advanced therapies using human stem cells and to the development of cutting-edge techniques.
The Director of Creatio, Dr. Josep M Canals and the different principal investigators collaborators of Creatio are members of the Sicentiifc Advisory Boards of associations and scientific networks. In addition, they have extensive experience in obtaining competitive funding: European Union programs, national and regional government grants and private foundations.
Preclinical studies – avantdrug
Through an innovative approach and a multidisciplinary team of experts, preclinical studies area – avantdrug is dedicated to the validation of new technologies and health products in development through advice and conducting preclinical studies.
Preclinical studies are based on the recommendations and protocols validated by the different regulatory agencies under ISO 9001:2015 conditions and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), if requested.
Our portfolio of technological offerings includes toxicology services, preclinical studies for the production of Advanced Therapies, and drug screening platforms based on human cells. Furthermore, we carry out the necessary advice and documentation to present to regulatory agencies.
Production of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products
At Creatio we are dedicated to the development, validation and manufacture of Advanced Therapies Medicinal Products (ATMPs) for use in clinical trials under ISO 9001:2015 and Good Manufacturing Practices (GM) required by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
With 4 specialized rooms and an extensive experience, at Creatio we work with all aspects of production in gene and cell therapy and tissue engineering.

As an academic center, at Creatio we understand the obstacles that researchers must overcome to bring their ideas to the clinic. We have a highly qualified team that offers advice and support in all aspects of the production process. In addition, as an academic center, we have the option of training personnel through public financing or by contract with private organizations.
