Position paper about Hospital Exemption -TERAV (Advanced Therapies)

THE SPANISH ADVANCED THERAPY NETWORK HAS RELEASED POSITION PAPER ABOUT THE ROLE OF HOSPITAL EXEMPTION IN EUROPE

The position paper written by the Spanish Network of Advanced Therapies (TERAV), a network leader in Europe in the development of commercialized Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs), informs to the policymakers and healthcare sector the relevance of the Hospital Exemption for the development of ATMPs.

The position paper, published at Bone Marrow Transplantation Journal (BMT), exposes TERAV’s position on the role of the hospital exemption in Europe and highlights the Spanish Model, as an example to follow, in front of the importance to define a clear regulation to standardize the preclinical and clinical procedures between the different countries of the European Union. The development of a common approach will generate a unique opportunity to create synergies between academia and pharmaceutical industry and thus make these therapies more accessible to patients.
