This month, I was invited to Brazil by the organizers of the II Brazilian School on Molecular Modelling to give a course on energy transfer. The school was held at the UFABC (Universidade Federal do ABC), at the Santo André campus. Santo André is a city of the big São Paulo area. A part from me, other scientists from Germany, Sweden or the U.S.A were giving courses on other topics. I think this is a good initiative, as the courses allow young Brazilian students in the area of molecular modelling to have insights on different research topics that are difficult to introduce in a short conference of 30 or 40 minutes. On my side, it was also a nice visit were I was able to meet many Brazilian scientists doing interesting research, which give me some new ideas on future research projects. Here is a nice video summarizing the school, which illustrates the will of the organizers to popularize science events like this one among the public.
