On Wednesday, November 18, at 6 pm, there will be a talk in the round “CURE IS RUN. Caring for and healing among other jobs ”to reflect on the work that women do, paid and unpaid, giving centrality to care work. The activity, which will take place without an audience and with all the security measures in the Auditorium, can be followed live on YouTube at the Palau Robert.
On this occasion, two members of Copolis will take part. Professor Elisabet Almeda Samaranch as speaker and Professor Núria Vergés Bosch as organizer of the event.
COVID-19 has highlighted the need for care work and the extent to which they are essential for the sustainability of our lives and societies. At the same time, we have seen that caring, as healing, is something highly feminized, precarious, and largely unpaid within our homes. What jobs do women do? Under what conditions? Who is (co) responsible for the care work? Is it possible to reconcile and enrich the various vital spheres? And does telecommuting always help?
