Gender, communication and mobility between Panama and Costa Rica. The experience of the Ngäbe and Buglé. Director: Mònica Martínez Mauri
The study of cross-border indigenous mobility and communication through technology is of special interest now that the pandemic has affected all forms of mobility and communication. Based on the few ethnographic researches that have studied the indigenous mobility of the Ngäbe and Buglé peoples between Panama and Costa Rica, this doctoral research analyzes their mobility in pandemic times from an intersectional perspective, examining the processes of identity resignification and gender, as well as the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the migration process.
