Gloria Sanmartin Antolín, PhD Student at the UB Business School, has been awarded by The Beryl Institute Patient Experience Scholar Program. This grant reinforces the commitment of The Beryl Institute to support the growing conversation on the importance of the patient experience in healthcare and expanding the body of knowledge on this topic. For this reason, the grant supports PhD doctoral students as they conduct research associated with the patient experience.
Our PhD in Business is a regional Patient Experience Coordinator for Quirónsalud too, and her PhD field is Technology and Operations Management. Her background includes work experience in hospitality, operations, quality, customer experience and revenue management. Candidates for the grant come from across the healthcare educational spectrum from nursing to management to healthcare administration and, supported by The Beryl Institute, Patient Experience Scholars are scholar-practitioners at the forefront of expanding the body of research on the patient, resident and/or family experience and committed to exploring ideas and practices that will lead to positive healthcare outcomes.
Gloria has been awarded for her research “Defining the outpatient patient experience in a real hospital through the definition of a Case Study”. This research proposes defining the experience of the patient in outpatient clinics of a hospital. To respond to all the elements that make up the definition of the experience, it has been carried out in an analysis of a real case study at Hospital General de Catalunya, part of the Quirónsalud network.
