In our modern democratic societies, evidence-based decision-making is heralded as a cornerstone of effective governance. However, the human mind is inherently susceptible to implicit bias, which can skew perceptions and judgments. This workshop delves into the intricate interplay between evidence, democracy, and implicit biases. We will explore how implicit biases can influence the interpretation and utilization of evidence within democratic processes, affecting policy-making, public discourse, and societal outcomes. By raising awareness of these implicit biases and their implications, we aim to gain valuable insights into strategies for critically assessing evidence and challenging implicit biases in decision-making contexts. The workshop aims to contribute to the advancement of fair and evidence-based governance in democratic settings.
