The “Trobada”, which means encounter in Catalan language, is the annual meeting of the Institute, where we share ideas, present our new research projects, and debate on the future challenges for the Institute.
This year we will be hosting Kate Ekama (LEAP, Stellenbosch University), who will be delivering the keynote lecture “Slavery in South Africa: Questions, methods, directions”.
After the lecture, Julia de Frutos and Vahagn Jerbashian, two of our BEAT members, will present their recent research. The Trobada will come to a close with a lunch.
