Artsoundscapes at the IX Festa de la Ciència of the University of Barcelona 2023

The Artsoundscapes project was present at the IX Festa de la Ciència, the biggest outreach event of the University of Barcelona. Our researchers presented a video featuring shelters with rock art accompanied by various sounds convolved with the acoustics of the shelters. The video served as an introduction to what we do in the Artsoundscapes project. To emphasize the importance of acoustics in our daily experiences,our researchers created an additional interactive activity: one volunteer would close their eyes and listen to the buzzing sound of a fly through headphones, while another volunteer operated a software that controlled the fly’s movement in a virtual 3D space.
