Dr. César Villalobos Acosta obtained his PhD in Archaeology from the University of Durham, England, under Dr. Díaz-Andreu’s supervision, having obtained his MA in Anthropology from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and his BA in Archaeology from the Escuela Nacional de Antropología e Historia. The focus of his fieldwork has led him to work on issues of rock art, identity, materiality, collective memory, history of archaeology and climate change, on which he has published a large number of papers. He has specialized in Northern Mexico, specifically in Sonora, where he has collaborated with various specialists. He is currently conducting his current archaeological research project on climate change and its relationship with cultural processes.
