The incubation

The laying, usually 2 eggs, happens normally in February. The incubation lasts about 40 days and is mostly done by the female, whereas the male hunts and watches over the territory.

This is a difficult period for the eagles because there are fewer preys. If the male doesn’t find food, then the female has to abandon the nest and the embryos may die of cold. This may also happen in case of human presence disturbing near the nest.
