The latest publication 'El águila perdicera en Cataluņa: de la amenaza a la conservaciķn' is ready to download

From the Conservation Biology Group of the University of Barcelona we are pleased to share with you our latest publication 'El águila perdicera en Cataluņa: de la amenaza a la conservaciķn' edited in collaboration with ENDESA, that is now available to download (in Spanish).

This is a monograph based on the reports commissioned by ENDESA entitled Analysis of the population of Bonelli's eagles in Catalonia. Demographic evolution and interaction with distribution power lines, as well as other information obtained from 1980-2014 through projects and specific agreements between the University of Barcelona, the Miquel Torres Foundation, the Barcelona Provincial Council and ENDESA, and projects funded by the Ministries of Education and Science and Innovation.

In this paper results obtained thanks to agreements made with these agencies and stakeholders are presented, consisting on the monitoring the Catalan population of Bonelli's eagle during three decades, the analysis of the main demographic parameters, the population viability analysis and the main factors involved in its conservation.

On the other hand, it sets out in detail the protocol to mitigate bird electrocution in power lines and the concrete actions undertaken with the aim that could be a model to solve this problem not only in Catalonia but also in other regions and with other endangered species.

We hope this publication is of interest to you!
