Investigador postdoctoral Juan de la Cierva

Juan Pedro NAVARRO MARTÍNEZ (Mazarrón, Murcia, 1994) holds a PhD in Social History from the University of Murcia (Extraordinary Award 2023) and is a postdoctoral researcher Juan de la Cierva of ADHUC-Theory, Gender, Sexuality at the University of Barcelona. Previously he was a research resident at the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome (State Agency for International Cooperation and Development), and a lecturer at the University of Murcia, to which he continues to be linked through the research project "Generaciones Inciertas" (Uncertain Generations). His scientific work has been published in national and international scientific journals and publishers. His most recent book, Destruyendo Sodoma: la represión social y judicial del pecado nefando en Castilla a finales del Antiguo Régimen (Tirant Lo Blanch, 2024), is the first monograph on sexual crimes between men focused on civil courts. His current lines of work are the repression of the crime of sodomy in the Spanish Monarchy and Italian territories in the Modern Age, the construction of masculinity in the Mediterranean and forms of sexual violence.
