Universitat de Barcelona
c/ Aribau, 2, soterrani 1, 08007 Barcelona
As part of the "Anti-Futurismo Cimarrón" Exhibition, which can be visited at the Centre d'Arts Santa Mònica, the roundtable discussion "Antifuturismo: un ejercicio sentésico de fabulación crítica descolonial" is proposed as an open dialogue space where artists from Abya Yala who are part of the exhibition will discuss the analytical frameworks that underpin both their individual works and the project as a whole. Topics such as why Antifuturism; the critique of the artistic apparatus within European modernity, art, community, and spirituality; and the possibility of decolonizing the work in progress, among others, will be the subjects of reflection. Katia Sepúlveda and the artists Marcela Huitraiqueo (Wallmapu), Imayna Caceres Garrido (Peru-Austria), Grupo de Mujeres Ajchowen (Guatemala), and Colectivo Ayllu (Madrid-Barcelona) will participate in the discussion. The roundtable will be moderated by Katia Sepúlveda (Chile-Germany and curator of the exhibition) and introduced by María Teresa Vera-Rojas (Venezuela and ADHUC / Universitat de les Illes Balears).
Free admission until seat availability is reached.
