#ODS5: Regarding the Writer's Profession. A Conversation with Margaret Obank

Conversa
Tuesday, 3 November, 2020, at 12h
Online

The cycle of debates “Talking about Genders and Genres”, organized by the UNESCO Chair Women, Development and Cultures (directed by Mònica Rius Piniés, ADHUC—Universitat de Barcelona), continues with a dialogue on the intricacies of the editing profession. This second session will consist of a conversation between Hanan Jasim Khammas (researcher at CALITME, UB) and Margaret Obank, editor of the literary magazine Banipal, which disseminates contemporary Arab literature through translations into English and now also into Spanish. “Talking about Genders and Genres” seeks to shed light on professions that are invisibilized, from a gender perspective”

This activity, which has the support of the Catalan Institute of Women, is framed within the Sustainable Development Goals Agenda, particularly Goal number 5, dedicated to gender equality. The conversation will be online and in English, and it is open to the public. Those interested in following the debate and participating in it can do so through the following link, which will be available from 11:50 am:
