- To acquire an understanding of the hydrological cycle, know how to identify its components and recognize their relationship with groundwater.
- Expose the hydrometeorological parameters and calculate the water balance in the soil for the quantification of the recharge due to rain infiltration.
- Understand the fundamental concepts of underground hydrology, the movement of water on the ground, Darcy's Law, hydraulic gradient and conductivity, porosity and storage coefficient, plotting and interpretation of piezometric surfaces and flow networks, etc.
- Describe and interpret the movement of underground water and the response of an aquifer to pumping, obtaining the values of the parameters of the aquifer and of the catchments, calculation of pumping fields and interferences, design and preparation of hydraulic tests.
