Graduates in the social sciences: Social Work, Social Education, Psychology, Education, and other fields related to disability.
This postgraduate course is open to students with no previous university qualification. In this case a university extension certificate will be awarded. Students should provide evidence of experience in the disability sector.
The course is also open to students with no prior university education, who will acquire the same knowledge and skills and receive a specific qualification for their learner group. Information on the access requirements and other conditions can be obtained from the course directors.
- To learn to examine and interpret the factors that determine or facilitate processes of social exclusion and to detect situations of exclusion of isolation potentially caused by discrimination on the grounds of disability.
- To detect, diagnose and establish mechanisms to address the many forms of discrimination faced by women and children with disabilities: inter-section discrimination.
- To raise awareness of and discuss attitudes and prejudices towards people with disabilities.
- To give greater visibility to the values that people with disabilities bring to society.
- To generate and exchange information on social and educational interventions in the field of disabilities, using tools, skills and resources for knowledge transfer.
