Real models of configuration categories
Abstract: The main subjects of this presentation are configuration spaces and configuration categories. We start by shortly introducing these objects and their Fulton–MacPherson compactifications. We go over the proof of the homotopy equivalence between the category of configurations of a manifold M and its Fulton–MacPherson compactification. We review recent results of Idrissi, providing a real model for the configuration spaces of compact, simply-connected manifolds. We then generalize these results to obtain a real model for the configuration category of a closed simply-connected parallelizable manifold M.
