Language Services Offices
The UB Language Services’ language services offices creates the bridge between the university’s language planning and policy and the faculties and schools in which the UB Language Services can be found. These offices are responsible for the following: making language services and resources available to the public; correcting texts written in Catalan and translating Catalan texts into Spanish; advising users with general and specialist language enquiries according to users’ needs in different UB centres; supervising language quality and document design; forecasting and assessing UB personnel’s language learning needs in different faculties and schools; and finally, providing self-access Catalan language learning resources to students, faculty and research staff and administrative and service staff across the university.
Since the year 2004, the UB Language Services’ central office has been located in Sants and at the present time there are plans to improve the UB’s six different language services offices, as indicated below:
