The Institute of Regional and Environmental Economy (RUW: Regional und Umwelt Wirtschaft) is among the most active research groups within the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration and has completed a substantial body of research funded from EU, Austrian National Science Foundation, National bank, and similar sources. Projects include basic and applied studies of development and environmental issues present at all spatial levels, with a special focus on local business environments and regional economies.
