A main cohesion factor of the group is the direct implication, coordination and teaching. in the specialization on Geological hazards in the official master Recursos minerals i Riscos geològics. Teaching is made in collaboration between UB and UAB, and has been accredited by AQU Catalunya as master of excellence in 2022. RISKNAT members teach in the methodological subjects of GIS and Remote sensing and have been advisers for a minimum of 33 master thesis (TFM) from 2017 to 2022, some of which resulted in specialized publications. Most of the members of RISKNAT participate also in the Programa de Doctorat de Ciències de la Terra of UB, which has been distinguished with Menció cap a l’Excel·lència by the Ministry of Education.
Some members participate also in other masters such as: Master en Ciencia i Gestió Integrada de l’Aigua (UB, also coordinated by the Facultat de Ciències de la Terra), Master en Gestió d’Arees de Muntanya (UdL-UB-UAB-UdG-URV) and Màster de Formació del Professorat de Secundària Obligatòria i Batxillerat, Formació Professional i Ensenyament d’Idiomes (UB) and some have also delivered lectures in the Master Universitari d’Enginyeria Naval i Oceànica, taught at the Facultat de Nàutica de Barcelona of UPC and at the course Observando los polos: pasado, presente y futuro of the Universidad Internacional Menedez Pelayo (UIMP).
Members of the group have also participated in EC-funded Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks such as SLATE (https://www.itn-slate.eu/), where 15 international students completed a PhD with a common focus on offshore geohazards. They have also delivered dedicated courses on offshore geohazards in Korea.
One of the challenges of RISKNAT is to make our results revert in better hazard analyses and to do so we seek the training of young researchers in both, data supplying concerning the parameters related to the processes, and hazard analysis (e.g. Fault2Sha ILP group consortium, and the European ITN training network SLATE).
