Snow avalanches are frequent phenomena, which involve considerable risk. The purpose of our research is to help improve land management in areas susceptible to their occurrence.

Objectives

  1. characterize the magnitude and frequency of major avalanche episodes based on historical data and nivo-climatic and geomorphological characteristics.
  2.

develop statistical models to determine major avalanche maximum run-out distances, with the aim of improving hazard mapping and land management.
