The Catalan Society for Biology Award goes to the young researcher Jesús Lozano
Jesús Lozano Fernàndez, author of the thesis Mecanisme d’acció de l’hormona juvenil en la metamorfosi dels insectes, read at the UB in December 2014, has been awarded with the award of the Catalan Society for Biology (SCB) in the category of young researcher.
This doctoral study, awarded with the second honorable mention by the XX Premi Claustre de Doctors (20th Doctors’ Senate Award) of the University of Barcelona, was led by the researcher Xavier Bellés, from the Institute of Evolutionary Biology (CSIC-UPF) and supervised by the lecturer Miquel Àngel Arnedo, from the Department of Evolutionary Biology, Ecology and Environmental Sciences of the Faculty of Biology and from the Biodiversity Research Institute of the UB (IRBio).
