Celebration of International Rivers Day with Yanomami leader Davi Kopenawa

Next Friday, March 14, starting at 11:30, the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Biology will host the event to celebrate International Rivers Day with a day that will feature the participation of Davi Kopenawa, political activist and leader of the Yanomami people, one of the largest indigenous peoples that inhabit the Amazon rainforest on the border of Brazil and Venezuela.
Davi Kopenawa will give a talk open to the public and will receive a distinction in recognition of his fight for human and environmental rights in an event with the participation of the Vice-Rector for Sustainability and Climate Action, Teresa Sauras, and the Dean of the Faculty, Rosina Gironès. The program includes a dialogue on collective responsibility in defending the earth and the fight against the climate emergency with experts Ana Maria Machado, Sandra Branco Buenafuente and Martí Orta.
