A project to improve the preservation of the Egyptian vulture –a species in regression in the Iberian Peninsula- which was launched by the Conservation Biology Group of the Faculty of Biology and the Biodiversity Research Institute (IRBio) of the UB, has been the winner of the sixth edition of the Delta Birding Festival, a successful event that gathered more than 2,500 attendants from the 20th to the 22nd of September in Delta de l’Ebre.
This call –the only ornithological festival held in Catalonia- is a unique initiative in Spain which gathers a wide range of courses, workshops, contests, and more, and its economic aids are given to projects related to the study and conservation of birds and the environment. In this context, this year the awarded project in Delta Birding Festival has been chosen by the attendants for the first time.
