Rosa Adroer was involved in several molecular genetics projects: Part of her work was devoted to the sequencing, and study of the evolution, structure and regulation of the protamine genes. However, one of her major activities was the study of the molecular genetics of Alzheimer's disease. Her doctoral thesis (defended in 1997) was entitled "La enfermedad de Alzheimer: contribución a las causas genétiques y a los factores de riesgo genéticos" and was merited the extraordinary PhD price (Premio extraordinario de tesis) of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Barcelona.
