Abstract: Much of the contemporary debate in metaphysics of time is animated by the question about whether temporal passage is real, and thus, if time is somehow ‘dynamic’ in nature. On the backdrop of such question, in this talk I will show how a certain tension appears to arise between a certain way to take the reality of temporal passage at face value and some seemingly plausible principles concerning the interplay between the notions of metaphysical grounding and metaphysical necessity.
