Before joining LOGOS, I graduated from the University of Bologna (Italy) with a dissertation entitled 'The Pragmatics of Legal Language: Paul Grice and the Philosophy of Law’, where I used Grice's theory of conversational implicatures to analyse the production of some propositions of law, supplementing it to account for collective speech. I'm enrolled in the CCiL PhD program at the University of Barcelona, a member of the Globalization and Legal Theory doctoral program, and an external collaborator of the UPF research group on law and philosophy.
My research interests are mainly in applied metaphysics and applied philosophy of language. In the former field, I study the relation between the property of legal validity and the more basic things in virtue of which some norms possess that property. This is the subject of my PhD thesis, which I develop under the supervision of Dan López de Sa (University of Barcelona), J.J. Moreso (Pompeu Fabra University), and George Pavlakos (University of Glasgow). Within the latter, I work at the intersection between legal interpretation and the philosophy of language, employing semantic and pragmatic theory to interpret legal provisions.
