New and Hot in Epistemology (NHE)
The reading group "New and Hot in Epistemology" is intended as an opportunity to catch up with the latest trends in epistemology. We will take on papers which have been published roughly in the last five years in renowned journals. Since epistemology is such a huge field, we will impose a certain thematic focus as filter. As a general guideline, we will focus on papers which are concerned with the various ways in which epistemic subjects may go beyond their basic or immediate knowledge. In particular, the following four topics will be addressed: knowing how, the problem of induction and inference to the best explanation, knowledge about the future, and the recent debate about peer disagreement.
