PERSP Post-Doctoral Fellow, LOGOS, Universitat de Barcelona
I obtained my Ph.D from the University of Bologna in 2012. Before joining LOGOS, I was a post-doc at the Instituto de Investigaciones Filosoficas at UNAM (Mexico); before that, I was doing research at the COGITO Research Centre in Bologna. I was a visitor at the universities of St. Andrews, of Barcelona and at the Northern Institute of Philosophy (Aberdeen).
My interests lie mainly in the philosophy of language, occasionally at the intersection with philosophy of mind, epistemology or metaphysics. I have written a book entitled Semantic Under-Determinacy and Communication (Palgrave MacMillian, 2014) and authored articles on the relationiship between thought and semantic under-determinacy. I have worked on the semantics and epistemology of disagreement too. My latest research interests include the verbal/substantial status of ontological disputes and issues in the semantics of pejoratives.
The project I am developing here at LOGOS is entitled “Studying Verbal Disputes and Their Philosophical Role”.
Together with Samuele Chilovi, I am convening a Reading Group on Metaphysics in the first semester of the academic year 2015-16.
Starting November 2015, I will take up a six-years post-doc position at the University of Vienna, attached to the Chair in Epistemology held by Professor Martin Kusch.
From August 2016 to July 2017, I will be a Humboldt Fellow at the University of Hamburg, affiliated to the project "Ontology after Quine" led by Richard Woodward.
