In this paper, I argue for the idea that objectivity is not achieved by detracting supposed subjective elements from our experience of others and the world, but rather by adding more such elements to it. We do this by means of taking other's perspectives. Instead of making us less objective and more partial, as people like Jesse Prinz and Paul Bloom have argued, empathy makes us more objective.
