The Present

Abstract

It’s obvious that the present is important for us in many respects. But why is it so? Does the present have some objective feature that explain somehow its relevance for our life? Or is it its experiential profile that imposes on us as the idea of its importance? In this talk, I am going to argue that neither question should be answered in the affirmative. The present is, contrary to many misleading narratives, shallow both on a metaphysical and an experiential level.
